Honey I Ruined The House
Solid Success
If you watched the Channel 4 programme Honey I ruined The House during the summer, you will have ssen some of the beautiful work surfaces manufactured by the Solid Surfacing Company in Kidderminster.
The thriving fabrication company based on the Spennells was one of those chosen by the programme producers to improve a kitchen which had seen better days, and as a result the company has seen increased enquiries and orders for their worktops.
The firm produces a wide range of stunning surfaces to suit all kitchens or bathrooms, whether you prefer the deep natural beauty of granite, the warmth of hardwood, or the contempary look of glass or Formica.
Their showroom at The Worktop Centre, on Spennells Trading Estate, Spennels Valley Road, is packed full of leading name products. As well as worktops, the company supplies taps and sinks. The showroom is currently undergoing a revamp and is well worth a visit if you want to give your kitchen a brand new look. Refurbishment has become a popular option for many home owners who want a new-look kitchen, particularly if the layout is already effective. Its much easier having doors and worktops fitted than replacing entire units, which can be a messy and disruptive procedure.
Mr Bill Reid, Sales Director at the company, said "Since we opened six years ago, business has been booming. Alot of this is because we give impartial advice on which products will best suit our customers' needs. As an independent manufacturer we are not tied to selling particular products and our opinion is truly objective. Refurbishments are becoming more and more popular and are a cost effective way to bring your ktchen right up to date.
"New finishes are coming out all the time. The Corian and LG Hi-Macs surfaces are beautiful fabricated, and we also have hardwood worktops favoured by people who like the natural look in their interiors. Granite is still very popular, it has a depth of colour that no other product offers, we stock both natural and man-made granite surfaces. We have superb laminate products, such as the Omega range, which now offers a 60mm thick option, and the Axiom etchings range is a new innovation and very much in demand."
Products are fabricated on site, and the company offers free no-obligation quotations. Worktops can be purchased on a supply only, or a supply and installation basis.
Mr Reid said " The key to our success is our commitment to customers, from the intial enquiry until job completion, one of our directors is responsible for the project and will ensure it is handled professionally and cost effectively."
